YOUR BUILD.
MADE SIMPLE.
Choose the guide for your downloaded file. Check the build's Minecraft version and edition before getting started. The instructions below cover Minecraft Java Edition.
Install a world
.zip · Java EditionA world download contains a separate Minecraft world that you can open in Singleplayer. You don't need Litematica or WorldEdit to open a regular vanilla world.
- Download and extractClick DOWNLOAD WORLD ZIP on the build page. When the download finishes, extract the ZIP using your computer's archive tool.
- Find the actual world folderOpen the extracted folders until you find the one containing
level.dat. Keep that folder and all its contents together. This is the world folder you need to install. - Close MinecraftSave and exit any open world, then close the game before copying the downloaded world.
- Copy the world into savesOpen the game directory used by your Minecraft installation. Copy the complete world folder into its
savesfolder. Create the saves folder if needed. - Launch the matching versionStart the Minecraft version listed on the build page. If the world requires mods, install the specified mods and dependencies first. Open Singleplayer and select the world.
For a default Java Edition installation, the saves folder is usually located here:
- Windows · paste into File Explorer
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\saves- macOS · Finder → Go → Go to Folder
~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves- Linux
~/.minecraft/saves
Custom launchers and installations with a custom game directory may store worlds elsewhere. Use the folder for the instance you actually launch.
The final location should look like saves/MyWorld/level.dat. Avoid an extra wrapper folder such as saves/MyWorld/MyWorld/level.dat. Use a unique folder name so you don't overwrite an existing world. Keep a backup before opening a world in a different Minecraft version.
Litematica
.litematicDisplay a build preview in your world and use it as a guide while building.
- Install compatible modsInstall Litematica and its required dependencies, including MaLiLib, for your Minecraft version and supported mod loader.
- Add your downloadPut the file in the
PROJECTSHULKERfolder inside your Minecraft instance. Create the folder if needed. Custom launchers may use a separate instance folder. - Load the schematicLaunch Minecraft with the mods installed. In your world, press
M, openLoad Schematicsand select your file. Enable placement creation when loading. - Position and buildOpen
Schematic Placementsto select and configure the placement. Adjust its position and rotation, then follow the preview.
Loading a schematic shows a preview; it doesn't automatically place the blocks. Creative pasting has additional requirements and needs suitable permissions.
Official Litematica guide ↗WorldEdit
.schem / .schematicImport a build with WorldEdit. You'll need a compatible installation and permission to use its schematic and clipboard commands.
- Add the filePlace your download in WorldEdit's configured schematics folder. Its location depends on your server or mod installation.
- Load the schematicRun
//schem listto find your file, then load it with//schem load filename.schem. Replace the example with your actual filename. - Choose the positionStand where you want to paste. The saved origin determines the build's offset from your position.
- Paste your buildUse
//paste. To ignore air blocks, use//paste -ainstead. Use//undoto undo your last WorldEdit operation if you need to reposition it.
Test in a copy of your world first. Pasting can replace existing blocks, and ignoring air may leave terrain inside the build.
Official WorldEdit guide ↗Quick troubleshooting
My downloaded world doesn't appear.
Extract the ZIP first. Check that level.dat is directly inside the world folder placed in saves. Check that you used the saves folder for the Minecraft instance you are launching, then restart the game.
Should I put the ZIP itself in saves?
No. Extract the ZIP and copy the actual world folder into saves. Keep all files and subfolders inside that world folder together.
Will the world download add the build to my existing world?
A world download opens as a separate world. To add a build to an existing world, use the schematic download with a compatible tool.
My schematic file doesn't appear.
Check the file extension and the folder used by your actual Minecraft instance or server. Renaming an extension doesn't convert the file.
Some blocks look wrong or are missing.
Check the Minecraft version listed on the build page, any required mods and your tool's format support. Older game versions may not contain the build's blocks.
Can I use these files on Bedrock or my phone?
These instructions cover Java Edition on a computer. A Java world or schematic doesn't work directly in Bedrock Edition on a phone, console or Windows. Check each build's edition and download format.
What about .nbt files?
An .nbt extension alone doesn't identify the exact structure format. Follow the build's instructions and use a tool that supports that file.
